Rowtern Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Rowtern (“we”) provides the Rowtern Chrome extension and this website at https://www.rowtern.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to contact us.
What this covers
This policy applies to the Rowtern Chrome extension and the Rowtern website. It does not cover third-party websites you choose to scrape. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies.
Scraped page content
When you run a scrape, wizard, pagination step, or email, phone, or image extractor, Rowtern reads the page in the tab you opened and builds a table in the extension.
Extracted rows, cell values, and downloaded files stay on your device (extension storage and files you save). We do not upload scraped cell content to our servers, and we do not sell scraped page content.
Data the extension may send
To operate the product we send limited product and account data to our backend:
- Account. If you sign in with Google, we receive the account email and basic profile needed to create your session. We do not read your Gmail, Drive, or other Google content.
- Subscription. If you start a paid plan, we process the plan and order needed to manage membership.
- Debug logs. We send debug logs to diagnose problems. Logs do not include extracted cell values.
- App config. We request product configuration (such as plan tiers) so the extension can run.
Data stored only on your device
Templates, scrape history, results, and your sign-in session are stored locally in the browser. Uninstalling the extension or signing out removes or ends that local data, except files you already downloaded.
How we use data
We use the data above to provide scraping and export, sign-in and membership, fix errors, understand which features are used, and answer support requests. We do not sell personal information. We do not use scraped page content for advertising.
Sharing
We share data only with processors that run the product: our auth and backend host (Supabase) and Google (sign-in). We may also disclose information if required by law.
Retention
Account and membership data is kept while your account is active and as needed for billing or legal duties. Debug logs are kept for troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated. Email us to ask about access or deletion of account data we hold.
Children
Rowtern is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change, and the current version will stay at https://www.rowtern.com/privacy.
